SUDBURY — Almost 30 high school student leaders are meeting to prepare for the S.T.O.P. Program in 2018. Students Together Opposing Prejudice, an interfaith initiative, began in 1991 and is embarking on its 28th year of teaching sixth, seventh and eighth graders about the harm of prejudice and discrimination with skills for confronting it.

The seven sessions, which meet on Wednesday evenings during January, February and March, are facilitated by high school students who entered the program in middle school and remained involved for the succeeding years.

The S.T.O.P. sessions include presentations, games and activities that are designed to be fun for the participants and help them understand issues that are often complex. The high school facilitators help the adult leaders decide which activities will be most engaging for the students.

Families who are interested in having their sixth, seventh or eighth grader participate this year should contact S.T.O.P. at [email protected] or check the website at www.stoptheprejudice.net for more information or a registration form.    News Article
