Sudbury program hope to ‘stop’ prejudice
Now in its 29th year, S.T.O.P. is a seven-week curriculum targeted to middle school students, scheduled to end March 27. Through the use of games, activities, and small group discussions, the young participants learn how to recognize stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination as well as effective ways to respond.
STOP Program Begins 28th Year
SUDBURY — Almost 30 high school student leaders are meeting to prepare for the S.T.O.P. Program in 2018. Students Together Opposing Prejudice, an interfaith initiative, began in 1991 and is embarking on its 28th year of teaching sixth, seventh and eighth graders about the harm of prejudice and discrimination with skills for confronting it.
